Job Description

Callisburg High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Math Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Callisburg is a small 3A rural district located just East of Gainesville in the heart of Texoma. The culture of Callisburg High School is one that supports teacher growth, retention, and accountability. Our students are highly active in all aspects of extracurriculars; ranging from one of the largest FFA/Ag programs in the area, highly competitive athletics with new or newly updated facilities, an Academic UIL Program that has a long history of success winning multiple state championships, a Robotics and Drones program, and not to mention THE largest Flag program in the United States of America. The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated history of student success on STAAR Algebra 1 EOC, and experience in UIL academic coaching.
Key Job Responsibilities Instructional Planning:
Develop, implement, and adapt daily lesson plans that meet state (TEKS) and district standards.
Curriculum Delivery:
Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and literature to students, tailoring methods to meet diverse needs.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Administer tests, quizzes, and projects to monitor student growth, providing timely feedback and maintaining accurate records.
Classroom Management:
Establish a safe, organized, and positive learning environment, including enforcing school-wide behavior policies.
Student Support:
Provide individual, small group, or remedial instruction to support struggling learners.
Communication:
Meet with parents, staff, and administrators to discuss student performance.
Qualifications and Requirements Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Certification:
A valid Texas Teacher Certificate with the required English Language Arts/Reading endorsements (ELAR 7-12).
Exams:
Passing scores on the TExES content exam and the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR) exam.
Core Skills Literacy Expertise:
Strong knowledge of English language arts, including composition and literature.
Adaptability:
Ability to adjust teaching techniques for different learning styles and skill levels.
Technological Proficiency:
Ability to use technology to enhance literacy instruction and assessment.
