COMPENSATION
: Salaries for new classroom teachers are based on the salary ranges below (10-month work schedule) Min 5 years 13 Years 20 years Max $57,500- $62,850 $65,550 $68,750 $70,350
- Please note that first year teachers who are not fully certified will have a starting salary of $57,200 Texas Education Code § 48.

EDUCATION
: Bachelors DegreeCERTIFICATION
: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
: Responsible for creating a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth of every student; establish effective rapport with students; provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to become a responsible citizen and function successfully in society.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements in student learning styles. 2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles. 3. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations. 4. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. 5. Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities. 6. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). 7. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to District requirements. 8. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. 9. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits. 10. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing. 11. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned- Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of subjects assigned General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Ability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations as they occur Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems Ability to concentrate, interpret policy and procedures, reason, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, read, coordinate, compile, compute, instruct, and maintain emotional control Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Valid Texas Drivers License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District•Valid Class "B" Texas Drivers License (Commercial) with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District•Employee must meet the standards set by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety (This requirement is for those teachers assigned supplemental duties that require transporting students in District vehicles)
