  • 1:00 PM Pay rate: $45 per hour Position Overview We are looking for an energetic, patient, and knowledgeable Algebra Teacher to join our summer enrichment team.
This role isn't just about solving equations; it's about preventing "summer slide" and helping students build the confidence they need to succeed in the upcoming academic year. Whether you're teaching foundational pre-algebra concepts or advanced quadratic functions, your goal is to make math accessible, relevant, and—dare we say—fun. Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery:
Lead daily Algebra lessons covering core topics such as linear equations, inequalities, graphing, systems of equations, and polynomials.
Curriculum Adaptation:
Tailor existing curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with varying skill levels, ensuring both remediation and acceleration are possible.
Active Learning:
Move beyond the whiteboard. Incorporate hands-on activities, math games, and collaborative problem-solving to keep energy high during the summer.
Progress Monitoring:
Conduct low-stakes assessments to ensure student understanding and knowledge, encouraging feedback and preparation for the upcoming year.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment that respects the "summer" atmosphere while prioritizing academic growth. Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Education, or a related field.
Expertise:
Deep understanding of Algebra I and II standards, ability to provide foundational skills to students.
Communication:
Exceptional ability to connect with middle and high school students and communicate progress effectively to parents/guardians. Desired Attributes
Adaptability:
Ability to pivot lesson plans based on student engagement and "aha!" moments.
Patience:
A genuine desire to help students who may struggle with math anxiety.
Creativity:
