187-day Position Summary The Math Interventionist provides targeted support to students who need additional instruction to develop mathematical understanding and skills. This role focuses on building conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving abilities through small group and individualized instruction aligned with grade-level standards. Responsibilities Deliver small group and/or one-on-one math interventions aligned to student needs Analyze assessment data to identify gaps in mathematical understanding and track progress Implement research-based strategies to support number sense, operations, and problem-solving Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce core instruction and support differentiation Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Participate in

MTSS/RTI

processes and intervention planning meetings Support the development of individualized plans for students requiring additional support Create a supportive learning environment that encourages persistence and confidence in math Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and growth Use basic computer or technology tools to support classroom documentation, communication, and program needs. Knowledge/Skils Applicants with experience or knowledge in the following areas will be favorably considered Experience working within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework Background in delivering academic interventions for struggling learners Familiarity with progress monitoring tools and data systems Training or experience in evidence-based mathemtacis intervention programs Ability to collaborate effectively within professional learning communities (PLCs) or instructional teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, required. Master's degree, preferred. Valid Vermont Teaching License (or ability to obtain), required with endorsement in one or more of the following areas: Math Specialist Secondary Math Special Education Demonstrated knowledge of: Mathematics instruction Assessment tools and data analysis to inform instruction Differentiated instruction and intervention strategies Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and move throughout the facility as required to perform job duties Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions related to teaching tasks Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families in person and through various communication methods Ability to operate standard classroom and office equipment, including computers and instructional technology Ability to maintain regular attendance Schedule and duties may vary based on assignment and school needs Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
