Submit your completed application to Katherine Renton at Position Description Easton School District has an opening for a full-time teaching position. The primary focus will be teaching Mathematics to our secondary students (grades 6-12), with additional opportunities to teach other secondary courses depending on school needs and student interest. We are seeking a high-energy, well-organized teacher who enjoys working in a collaborative work environment with fellow staff members at both the secondary and elementary levels. A successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills and be committed to building positive relationships with students, parents, fellow staff, and community members. This position is best suited to a motivated, flexible person who enjoys teaching and values the close relationships that develop in a small school setting. Our school has a major focus on Outdoor Education and getting our students outside. Every K-12 student has an Outdoor Education class in their schedule. Easton School District has one school (90 students, grades K-12) and is located in the Cascade Mountain Range, surrounded by an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities (skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, camping, boating, fishing, etc.). Our teachers are among the highest paid(if not the highest) in Kittitas County. Minimum Requirements Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate for secondary (grades 6-12) Math; major/minor in Mathematics preferred. Ability to maintain strong, productive relationships with other employees, students, and parents. Ability to work under pressure, to pay attention to detail, to concentrate, and follow directions. Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in interactions with students, families, and fellow staff members. Promote positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate, professional boundaries. Willingness to perform tasks as assigned. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with the adopted district curriculum. Diagnose and prescribe learning and training programs for individual students based on aptitude and interest. Provide for the individual needs of assigned students. Cooperate with fellow staff members, the Superintendent, and parents/extended family members in the implementation of a comprehensive instructional and activities program. Maintain classroom discipline and use effective classroom management skills in accordance with the student handbook and district discipline plan. Prepare and maintain weekly lesson plans. Maintain appropriate student records. Be familiar with state learning requirements, district goals, and qualifying standards. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned Training and Knowledge Desired Interest and ability to instruct middle and high school Mathematics. Interest and ability in teaching College in the HS and Advanced Placement courses Ability to translate concepts of Mathematics into the middle and high school instructional program. Understanding and knowledge of middle and senior high school students. Ability to foster positive relationships with students while maintaining effective classroom management skills. Strong skills and background in instructional methods and strategies. Ability to plan and carry out instruction to meet the varied needs of students. Interest in becoming involved in student activities. Ability to establish rapport with staff, students, and family members. Willingness to benefit from supervision and evaluation programs. Varied background of abilities, interests, talents, and hobbies. Interest in becoming involved in extracurricular activities. Other Duties as Assigned Other duties pertaining to student and instructional support as assigned by the principal/Superintendent.Pay:
