Full-Time (School Year Calendar) Position Summary The Learning Facilitator - Mathematics supports students in grades 8-12 enrolled in a hybrid, mathematics program for grades 8-12 that includes both synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Core math instruction is delivered through a certified virtual math teacher, while the Learning Facilitator provides in-person academic support, supervision, and instructional reinforcement. This role is essential to student success by ensuring engagement, monitoring progress, reinforcing mathematical concepts, and supporting the development of effective learning habits. The Learning Facilitator serves as a learning coach, helping students build confidence in mathematics, remain on track with coursework, and deepen their conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. This position mirrors the structure and expectations of the district's existing Learning Facilitator model Primary Responsibilities Supervise and support students during scheduled virtual mathematics coursework blocks. Provide academic assistance to reinforce mathematical concepts, procedures, and problem-solving strategies. Monitor student progress, attendance, and performance through the virtual learning platform and district systems. Communicate regularly with the virtual mathematics instructor to identify learning gaps, coordinate interventions, and support pacing. Encourage student engagement, perseverance, and responsibility in mathematics learning. Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment focused on academic growth and inquiry. Facilitate math tasks, practice sessions, or local extensions of virtual lessons when appropriate. Support students with goal setting, organization, time management, and study skills related to mathematics coursework. Collaborate with school staff, families, and support services to address academic or engagement concerns. Document student progress, interventions, and support strategies in accordance with district expectations. Qualifications Associate's degree or higher required (education, mathematics, or a related field preferred). Demonstrated interest in and strength in mathematics. Experience working with middle or high school students in an instructional or academic support role preferred. Familiarity with virtual, blended, or personalized learning environments preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a learning space and support diverse learners. Comfort using educational technology, learning management systems, and digital math tools. Commitment to student success and equitable access to high-quality mathematics instruction. Work Environment In-person work setting within a school campus or designated instructional space. Daily use of computers, virtual learning platforms, and instructional technology.
