Campus Statement Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is a dynamic and student-centered institution located in Phoenix, Arizona. As part of the Maricopa County Community College District, one of the largest community college systems in the nation, PVCC is committed to transforming lives through learning, service, and leadership. The college offers more than 125 degree and certificate programs, including 37 associate degrees and 46 certificate options available, and more than 150 academic pathways organized by Fields of Interest to help students align their educational journey with career goals. Job Summary The Business and Information Technology Division is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach GBS221 - Business Statistics in a variety of instructional formats, including in-person, virtual, and online.
Course Overview:
GBS221 introduces students to the application of statistical methods in business decision-making. Topics include descriptive and inferential statistics, probability distributions, sampling techniques, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation analysis, and statistical process management. Students use spreadsheet software to analyze, interpret, and communicate business data. Minimum Qualifications Occupational For occupational disciplines, a combination of education and/or experience is required to qualify. A faculty may qualify with any of the following: Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree or higher OR A Master's degree or higher in the teaching field OR A Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR A Master's degree or higher in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field Desired Qualifications Ideal candidates will have professional experience applying statistical analysis, business analytics, data-driven decision-making, quality control, forecasting, research methods, or related quantitative techniques in a business environment. Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel for data analysis is highly desirable. Degree in business, analytics, statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, operations management, or a closely related field preferred.
