Job Summary/Basic Functions The Department of Neurosurgery and Stanley S. Scott Cancer Research Center of Excellence of the School of Medicine, LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans invite applications for an academic faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor; rank and track to be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Interested candidates should have an active and significant extramurally funded program and a vision for collaborative research projects related to cancer research and drug development. Reporting to the Department Head of Neurosurgery, this faculty position will be a member of the Neurosurgery Department with a joint appointment with the
LSU-LCMC
Health Cancer Center. The candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate in research partnerships across LSU campuses, including, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, and LCMC Health. We are seeking applications from distinguished academicians with proven scientific, strategic and collaborative leadership skills. The successful candidate should be committed to the development of leading research with a focus on extramural grant funding and academic excellence in support of the research and educational missions of the institution, and a commitment to excellence in academics including mentoring residents and medical students. Incumbent will be expected to generate successful funding ventures, leveraging the talents of faculty, staff, and trainees. Qualified applicants should have a record of scholarship commensurate with appointment as Associate Professor or Professor; international reputation and track record of success in some aspect of cellular and molecular medicine; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in academics including medical, graduate and post-graduate education and the mentoring of trainees and faculty; and promoting the development of innovative research programs that align with the research mission of the School of Medicine and the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. Applicants must demonstrate strong commitment to scholarly research that complement our existing and growing areas of research in brain tumors. Mid-career and senior scholars with an interest in drug development like utilizing antibodies and genetically engineered variants against tumor-specific antigens and drug delivery and are specially encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications Required Education:
