Job Description:
Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor in our Business Administration program to teach classes in BUS-219 Business Statistics I. Topics covering the descriptive and inferential aspects of statistics will include frequency distributions, graphs, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability distributions, binomial and normal distributions, introduction to sampling theory, estimation theory, and hypothesis testing (mean, proportions). Computer software will be used. A calculator with specific statistical capabilities will be required. The adjunct instructor is responsible for all aspects of preparation, instruction, and classroom management. These include but are not limited to: learning management system (LMS) integration and maintenance, instruction and content delivery, preparing and grading assignments and exams, timely responses to student inquiries, and assessing student performance relative to standardized learning objectives.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUIALIFICATIONS
MBA or MS in Mathematics from a regionally accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior college-level teaching experience in Statistics Experience with D2L Brightspace or comparable LMS Teaching availability during the day, however, courses can be scheduled at night. Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.
Additional Information:
Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $1,527/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment. Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
