Job Description

Job Title Mathematical Sciences (Dual Enrollment), Full-Time Lecturer, Faculty Department Mathematical Sciences University Expectation MTSU seeks candidates committed to innovative teaching and meaningful service. We also seek to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty who value working with diverse students. Salary The salary is commensurate with education and experience. Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#712120) at the rank of lecturer to teach dual enrollment courses at Paige High School in Williamson County, TN. In addition, the lecturer may have to teach two online or in-person courses at MTSU's main campus in Murfreesboro, TN. This is a fall semester-only appointment. The contract may be renewed annually, subject to available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed through annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses such as College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Applied Statistics, Applied Calculus, Calculus 1, or other standard mathematics courses at the 1000- or 2000-level. The dual enrollment sections will be offered as part of the normal high school course schedule. The successful candidate must communicate regularly with the high school administration, the Director of General Education English, and the Department Chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar. Required Education A Master of Science or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
