Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide effective instruction in the subject area, helping to fulfill the College's goal of providing a quality education for all students attending CTC. Compensation is based on type of course and number of students, paid by Part time employment agreement. Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education including 18 graduate hours in Speech required. Three years of teaching experience at the postsecondary or secondary level in an appropriate academic discipline is preferred. Experience with online or technology- enhanced curriculum is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught. Ability to teach the subject matter effectively and communicate clearly with students. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite to include downloading and installing software, sending and receiving emails with attachments. Ability to learn Blackboard, Eagle Self Service and Etrieve electronic form system. Teaches assigned classes using syllabi, tests, and textbooks approved by the department in accordance with established professional practices in the teaching area. Grades, evaluates, and monitors student progress and keeps accurate records for all classes taught. Provides feedback and communicates with students in a timely manner. Maintains professional skills, subject expertise, and technology skills through continual involvement in development activities.
