Job Description

Be the voice that helps a child find their place — join Albertville City Schools as a Bilingual Aide and make every student feel at home in the classroom. Instructional Support / Special Programs Albertville, AL On-Demand / As-Needed We usually respond within a day About this role Albertville City Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Instructional Aide fluent in both Haitian Creole and English to support students and staff across our school community. Albertville City Schools is committed to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment where every student — regardless of language background — has the opportunity to thrive. This role is a vital bridge between our Haitian Creole-speaking students and families and the broader school community, making a meaningful difference every single day. In this role, you will work alongside classroom teachers and school staff to provide language and learning support to Haitian Creole-speaking students in both individual and small group settings. You will help translate instructions, assist with classroom materials, and ensure that students feel seen, supported, and empowered to participate fully in their education. Your warmth, cultural competency, and bilingual skills will help foster a welcoming environment not just for students, but for their families as well. This is an on-call, as-needed position aligned with the standard school calendar, offering flexibility while keeping you connected to the rhythm of the school year. Whether you're stepping into a classroom to support a lesson, helping a student navigate a new concept, or assisting a family at a school event, your contributions will have a lasting impact. If you are reliable, passionate about education, and driven to help every child succeed, we want to hear from you. A Day in the Life A typical day as a Bilingual Aide at Albertville City Schools begins with checking in at the school office, reviewing any assignments or classroom needs for the day, and connecting with the teacher or staff member you'll be supporting. Throughout the morning, you might work alongside a classroom teacher to help Haitian Creole-speaking students understand lesson instructions, translating key concepts and providing one-on-one or small group support to reinforce skills being taught. During transitions — whether to lunch, specials, or recess — you'll help supervise students, ensuring a safe and orderly environment. In the afternoon, you may assist with assessments, help prepare instructional materials for upcoming lessons, or support a student who needs additional reinforcement on a concept introduced earlier in the day. Throughout it all, you serve as a trusted, familiar face for students and families who may feel uncertain navigating an English-dominant school environment — your presence is both practical and profoundly reassuring. Success in this role looks like students who feel confident, included, and ready to learn. Responsibilities Assist teachers and school staff in the preparation of instructional materials and the physical classroom environment to support effective learning. Supervise students during both instructional and non-instructional activities, including transitions, lunch, and recess, ensuring safety and positive behavior.
