Teaching Full Job Description Job Title:
After‑School Engineering Play Instructor Do you love building things, sparking imagination, and helping kids discover how stuff works? We're looking for an enthusiastic instructor to run a hands‑on building class using the Meccano 25‑in‑1 Super Construction Set. What You'll Do Guide students as they build cranes, buggies, helicopters, and wild inventions of their own Turn mechanical concepts into fun, accessible activities Encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem‑solving Celebrate student creations and help them proudly display their work Keep the class organized, safe, and full of excitement What You Bring Experience with kids (teaching, tutoring, camps, or similar) A love for building, tinkering, or STEM activities Patience, positivity, and a playful teaching style Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that are fun, creative and enriching. Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment. Utilize various teaching strategies to engage students, including hands-on activities, group projects, and technology integration. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their growth. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to address individual student needs, particularly those requiring special education services. Create an inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity and encourages participation from all students. Qualifications Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Background in childhood development or related fields is desirable. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
