About the Role After School Specials LLC is hiring a Part-Time STEM Instructor to lead a hands-on after-school enrichment program for middle school students in San Anselmo. Students will explore robotics, engineering, coding, technology, building challenges, and problem-solving through interactive projects and guided activities. Robotics is an important part of the program, but you do not need to be a robotics expert or advanced programmer. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with students, is comfortable learning and demonstrating hands-on activities, and can create a positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable building, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and improving their ideas. Curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and program guidance are provided. What You'll Teach Lessons may include: Hands-on robotics activities Engineering and building challenges Elementary-to-middle-school level coding Block-based programming Robotics movement and navigation Motors and sensors Design and engineering challenges Problem-solving activities Testing and improving robotic builds Team-based STEM challenges Introductory programming concepts Creative technology projects The focus is on helping students learn through building, experimenting, testing, and problem-solving , rather than advanced programming. What You'll Do Lead a 60-minute after-school STEM and robotics class once per week Guide students through hands-on robotics, engineering, and coding activities Demonstrate projects and activities step by step Help students build, program, test, and improve robotics projects Support students when troubleshooting builds and coding challenges Introduce age-appropriate robotics and programming concepts Encourage creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and persistence Support students with different levels of STEM and robotics experience Follow provided curriculum and lesson plans Review lesson materials before each class Prepare robotics equipment and activity materials before students arrive Assist with classroom setup and cleanup Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Communicate with the program team regarding attendance, student progress, and classroom needs What We Provide After School Specials LLC provides: STEM and robotics curriculum Lesson plans Activity instructions Teaching resources Robotics equipment Program materials Instructor guidance and ongoing support You are not expected to develop curriculum from scratch .
