Private playgroup for a small group of 4-5 children, ages 4-5 This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and enjoys hands-on creative activities, crafts, and making. Curious Jane also runs after-school programs at schools throughout Denver, including Virginia Village, Park Hill, and Greenwood Village , so there may be opportunities to pick up additional hours throughout the school year. About the Role You will lead a weekly 90-minute creative program for a small private group. Each session will feature a hands-on project or activity designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and confidence. Our programs are project-based and may include crafts, building, sewing, sculpture, games, science-inspired activities, and other creative projects. You will receive the curriculum and project information in advance so you have time to review the activities and prepare for each session. There may also be opportunities to work 1-2 times per month at Curious Jane evening or weekend events , depending on availability. About Curious Jane Curious Jane runs project-based summer camps, after-school programs, birthday parties, and creative events throughout the Denver area. Our programs are hands-on, colorful, fun, and inventive , with a focus on building confidence through creativity . Key Responsibilities Arrive on time and be ready to begin the program at 3:30 PM Lead engaging, age-appropriate creative activities Set up and break down craft stations, tables, bins, and materials Support children with patience, encouragement, and clear instruction Create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment Bring energy and enthusiasm to every session Review project curriculum provided at least 48 hours in advance Manage a small group of 4-5 children Keep the activity space organized and clean Compensation $25-$35 per hour , based on role and experience. For this position, instructors are paid for a minimum of 2 hours per week , which includes time for setup, the 90-minute program, and cleanup. Additional prep time may be paid when required for a particular project. Travel time is not compensated. Requirements Must be available Tuesdays from approximately 3:15-5:15 PM Previous experience working with children in a classroom, camp, childcare, or similar setting Background check First Aid/CPR certification Reliable transportation Creative, energetic, patient, and dependable Comfortable leading hands-on activities with young children Ability to arrive on time and prepared each week Location Requirement This position is based in Denver, CO , primarily in the Cherry Creek neighborhood.
