Commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience About the Role The Islamic Academy of Delaware (IAD) is seeking a passionate and student-centered Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and critical thinking in our middle and high school classrooms. The ideal candidate combines strong subject expertise with a genuine commitment to student growth—academically, intellectually, and in character. Key Responsibilities- Teach middle and high school science courses (Life Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or other assigned subjects)
- Design and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans that engage and challenge students
- Lead inquiry-based learning through labs, demonstrations, and hands-on investigations
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and academic performance
- Cultivate a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Uphold and support the mission and values of IAD Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, or a related field
- At least one year of classroom teaching experience
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
- Eligible to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications
- State teaching certification
- Experience teaching middle and/or high school science
- Familiarity with integrating technology into instruction
- Master's degree in Education or a science-related field Compensation & Benefits
