About Us Peace Lutheran School is committed to providing students with a high-quality, academically rigorous, Christ-centered education that prepares them for lifelong service to Christ in their communities and the world. As a ministry of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), our school serves as an extension of the congregation—supporting parents in their God-given responsibility to "train up a child in the way he should go" (Proverbs 22:6). Position Overview Peace Lutheran School is seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th-12th Grade Math & Science Teacher to join our school family for the 2026-2027 academic year . The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Christian education, possess excellent communication and classroom management skills, and be able to engage students across middle and high school grade levels, with a preference given to upper level Math and Science experience. Candidates should be willing to support the mission and ministry of the school and be open to attending a Lutheran Doctrine course. Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in supporting our athletic program through basketball and/or volleyball coaching . Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with students and families Design and implement engaging lessons with clear learning objectives Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and academic needs Create, administer, and evaluate assessments, projects, and other learning activities Provide individualized support and academic guidance to students Promote and enforce positive Christian discipline in the classroom and throughout the school Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and personal responsibility Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment Communicate effectively with school leadership, colleagues, students, and parents Demonstrate professional appearance and demeanor Use proper oral and written grammar Attend faculty meetings and participate in school and church events, including Singing Sundays, Back-to-School Night, Open Houses, graduation ceremonies, and professional development workshops Participate in extracurricular activities and student life as needed Preferred Coaching Responsibilities Candidates with experience or interest in coaching are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who are willing to coach: Boys' Basketball Boys' and/or Girls' Volleyball Coaching responsibilities may include organizing practices, supervising student-athletes, communicating with families, and promoting Christian sportsmanship both on and off the court. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (required) Valid teaching certification preferred Prior teaching experience (1 year preferred) Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to teach and motivate middle and high school students Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to support and promote the Christian mission of the school Commitment to ongoing professional and spiritual development Coaching experience or interest in coaching basketball and/or volleyball preferred Benefits Supportive Christian work environment Small class sizes Opportunity to make a lasting impact on students' academic and spiritual growth Professional development opportunities Meaningful involvement in a Christ-centered school community To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter to Peace Lutheran School.
