Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic After School Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will facilitate educational activities, supervise children, and promote positive behavior while supporting their social and emotional development. This position is from 2pm-6pm on School Days Only. Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies Support children with homework help Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children's progress and daily experiences Facilitate and engage students with STEM project based learning each day. Lesson Plans are provided but must be followed. Facilitate and engage in Art Activities with students Facilitate and engage in Reader's Theater activities with students. Enforce safety protocols such as first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response plans when necessary Foster a welcoming environment that encourages social interaction, teamwork, and personal growth among children Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire Classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors constructively Experience facilitating youth group activities or outdoor work experience is a plus Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
