Computer Science Teacher _ Middle School

Job Purpose:

This dynamic role combines fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students with igniting a passion for technology. You'll develop engaging computer science curriculum aligned with Florida State Standards, promoting core concepts, digital literacy, and computational thinking skills that empower students to thrive in a technology-driven world. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you'll contribute to the development and implementation of effective educational programs that prepare students for future success, potentially including careers in computer science.

Responsibilities:

Develop engaging curriculums and lessons aligned with standards. Deliver interactive instruction using diverse teaching methods. Promote critical thinking and problem-solving through coding challenges. Manage the classroom environment for optimal learning. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records and contribute to data collection. Lead extracurricular activities like coding clubs. Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited instituion. Valid Florida teaching certificate (or eligibility). Strong understanding of computer science and Florida standards. Effective classroom management and engaging instruction. Ability to differentiate instruction and assess student learning. Excellent communication and technology integration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of middle/high school computer science teaching experience. Passion for fostering a love of computer science. Proficiency in educational technology and software. Commitment to learner-centered education and academic excellence. Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
