Job Description

Job Overview Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Afterschool Teacher to join our team. Monday - Friday; Hours 1:00 to 6:00. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. This role involves supervising students and fun activities, and supporting their social and emotional development. Candidates with experience working with elementary age children. A strong commitment to child safety, classroom management, and positive behavior guidance is essential. Duties Supervise and monitor children in an afterschool setting, ensuring their safety at all times Plan and implement age-appropriate sports, arts and crafts. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior guidance strategies Assist children with homework when needed Foster social skills using positive interactions. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance in collaboration with specialists or caregivers Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures when necessary Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience working with elementary age kids at church, camp, or early childhood education Classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment Strong communication skills and the ability to engage children effectively Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents Enjoys having fun and playing with children.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
