Job Description

Position Summary The After-School Teacher is responsible for supervising children after school, assisting with homework, leading educational and recreational activities, maintaining a safe classroom environment, and building positive relationships with children and families. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. CDA, TCC, or early childhood education coursework preferred. Experience working with children in a childcare center, school, summer camp, or after-school program preferred. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Must successfully pass a criminal background check and meet all Georgia Bright from the Start requirements. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Responsibilities Supervise children ages 4-8 in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Assist children with homework and reinforce learning concepts. Plan and lead age-appropriate educational activities, arts and crafts, games, STEM projects, reading, and outdoor play. Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness. Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being at all times. Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's day. Encourage positive behavior using appropriate classroom management techniques. Follow all Bright from the Start and Kids 4 Kompany policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrative staff. Prepare children for dismissal and ensure they are released only to authorized individuals.
