A Middle or High School Teacher teaches middle school students, usually in grades 6 - 12, in a public or private school. Teaches one subject, or a group of subjects, such as math and science; works with one class all year or teaches different classes of students throughout the day. May mentor students, coach a school team or advise a student club. May specialize in working with students learning English or students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and creative individual to join our team as a School Age / Seasonal Camp Teacher! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to create fun, engaging, and educational experiences for children in our after-school programs and Seasonal camps. You'll guide them through learning activities, support their emotional development, and help ensure they're safe, happy, and engaged while at our center. As a teacher, you'll practice and model Conscious Discipline, a positive and proactive approach to teaching social and emotional skills. You'll also help oversee the care and well-being of the children, create a welcoming environment, and work closely with families and fellow team members.
What You'll Be Doing Curriculum & Activities:
Plan and implement engaging daily activities and lesson plans for after-school and Seasonal camp programs, following Ivy Kids standards. Use positive guidance techniques to support children's development and behavior, promoting social skills, problem-solving, and emotional growth. Create a classroom environment that is not only educational but also fun and welcoming, with age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity. Make sure parents have clear communication about the daily activities with posted schedules and classroom updates.
Children's Care & Safety:
Ensure that children are always safe, cared for, and well-supervised, and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the classroom and play areas. Be mindful of children's allergies and health needs, and complete incident reports as needed. Participate in emergency procedures and provide first aid or CPR when necessary to keep children safe.
Teamwork & Communication:
Collaborate with assistant teachers and communicate regularly with the Director about any important updates regarding children or the program. Maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Attend team meetings, training, and events to continuously improve your skills and knowledge. Pitch in with other tasks as needed, like answering the phones, assisting in the classroom, or helping with special events or projects.
General Responsibilities:
Ensure that classroom materials and equipment are well-maintained, and that the environment is tidy and organized. Follow all Ivy Kids policies and procedures, including dress code and cleanliness standards. Be reliable and show up to work on time. What We're Looking For A genuine passion for working with children and helping them grow! At least 2 years of experience working in early education (a childcare center setting is preferred). A solid understanding of Georgia's child care licensing standards High energy and a positive, can-do attitude. Physical stamina to interact with children, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Strong communication skills with both children and adults. Ability to maintain a safe, positive, and fun learning environment. A commitment to ongoing professional development with at least 24 hours of training annually. Additional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience. Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus to transport children to and from school and on field trips (must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record).
