Full Job Description Summer ESage Program Teacher Sage International School of Boise ESage Program Position:

  • Part-Time Work Calendar:
    Monday
  • Friday 7:45am
  • 6:15pm Start date: End of May or beginning of June Flexible schedule, depending on individual's desire and program need
Salary:
$14
  • 16 hourly depending on experience
Description:
Under the guidance of the ESage Program Lead or Network ESage Coordinator, the ESage Teacher is responsible for providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience for children that attend our schools after school and on Fridays program called ESage. To direct a school aged enrichment education program to help students develop the skills, attitude, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education. To promote academic, social, and citizenship development through leadership and program supervision.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of one year experience working with children. Background in developmentally appropriate practices for children and effective classroom management preferred. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and use sound judgment. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. An ability to build genuine relationships with families and maintain a welcoming environment. Ability to analyze problems and solve them using good judgment and resourcefulness. Effective conflict resolutions.
Provides quality experience for everyone:
possess the ability to deliver outstanding experiences for families and the community. Current CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire date
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and oversee the operations of after school enrichment programs that are developmentally appropriate based on the child's needs. Embraces new approaches and activities to create a better classroom experience. Use appropriate positive guidance when interacting and redirecting. Create an environment based on the belief that children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands-on and open-ended experiences Oversee and implement the International Baccalaureate model, as well as the school's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives, in lesson plans, classroom instruction, unit planning, and assessments Always ensures outstanding customer service Know the participants' names and greet them when they arrive and depart. Ensures cleanliness and monitors maintenance and safety of facility, including outside play areas Always follow all safety policies and procedures Make appropriate modifications and accommodation based on individual needs. Oversee the communication of classroom rules and encourage students to set and maintain standards of behavior in class and the community. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with co-workers, students, and their parents concerning day to day happenings Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, curriculum, objectives, and methods Promote active learning using structured and unstructured activities that foster the social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development of students. Continuously maintains a safe working environment for self and others. Views safety as a guiding principle for making decisions. Keep immediate supervisor informed of activities and any issues that may arise Provide needed and requested information on a timely and effective basis Follow and assist in upholding school rules
Working Conditions:
Ability to walk, stand and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time Must be able to lift and or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids Ability to stand and sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, hiking, biking, and swimming
Compensation & Schedule:
Competitive hourly wage based on experience
