Join Our Team! Scribbles Center for Learning, Inc. is now hiring Part-Time After School Assistant Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year . This is an excellent opportunity for students attending Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, or Heartland Community College who are looking to gain valuable experience working with children while completing their education. We encourage applicants majoring in Elementary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreation, or related fields to apply, though these majors are not required. College enrollment is required.
Position Details Hours:
Monday-Friday, approximately 2:15 PM-5:30 PM Applicants must be available during this time frame.
Locations:
Benjamin Elementary Pepper Ridge Elementary Hudson Elementary Responsibilities Provide a safe, engaging, and positive environment for school-age children. Maintain constant supervision of children. Take daily attendance. Assist children with homework. Plan and lead crafts, games, and athletic activities. Incorporate
STEM/STEAM
experiences into daily programming. Support the health, safety, and well-being of all children. Build positive relationships with children and families. Assist the Lead Teacher with daily program operations. Communicate with and report to the Assistant Director of School Age as needed. Qualifications Must be currently enrolled in college. Experience working with children is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Reliable transportation to assigned school site.
