Angola Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered educator to join our Unified Arts team. This position provides engaging exploratory learning experiences through 9-week and semester-long elective courses in one or more of the following content areas: Theatre Family and Consumer Science (FACS) Business Technology The successful candidate will inspire middle school students to explore new interests, develop practical life and career skills, and discover potential future pathways through hands-on, project-based learning in a positive and engaging classroom environment. This teacher may also teach one or two classes at Angola High School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver engaging, exploratory courses aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards and the district curriculum. Create a classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and student engagement. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of middle school students. Foster positive relationships with students while promoting responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning. Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback. Collaborate with fellow Unified Arts teachers, grade-level teams, and administrators to support student success. Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Participate in professional learning, school improvement initiatives, and school events. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Indiana teaching license (or eligibility for licensure). Appropriate licensure in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Theatre Family and Consumer Science Business Education Technology Education Ability to teach multiple exploratory elective courses is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index.
