July 1, 2026 Primary responsibilities include: Implementing and fostering a joyful classroom environment and encouraging all learners in a child-centered approach. Creating and implementing authentic Arts-Integrated instruction and Project-Based Learning practices in an academically rigorous setting. Teaching the whole child, including social/emotional learning, with a focus on logical and restorative approaches to problem solving. Providing thoughtful differentiated instruction to each student. Building and maintaining strong relationships with parents and families through open, consistent, and positive communication. Creating and/or maintaining appropriate records and assessments. Developing and implementing appropriate intervention strategies in collaboration with student support staff. Maintaining professional competence through participation in professional development opportunities. Consistently collaborating with team members. Participating in school-sponsored community events. Leading classroom assistants, student teachers, and/or volunteers in addressing the needs of students.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Education or related field. Certification in area of instruction. Commitment to progressive education practices. Experience in a classroom setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a lead teacher in New Orleans. Background in the Arts. Diverse life and work experiences. Demonstrated success working in urban settings.
