  • Marine Technology School Year 2026-27
Position Responsibilities:
  • Teaches Marine Technology to High School students
  • Introduces students to the skills necessary to repair and maintain oceangoing pleasure craft.
  • Instruction will involve hands-on training utilizing diesel and gasoline engines and related components.
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom,develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
  • All other duties as assigned.
