ESL Certification Full Job Description Qualifications:
Bachelors DegreeClassroom or related experience with middle school and/or high school English LearnersMA DESE License in English as a Second LanguageEDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Prior teaching experience or related experience preferred. Candidates must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to work with independence in dealing with the diverse elements of the academic environment.
Role:
  • Provides English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to students identified as English Learners.
  • Prepares, conducts and delivers motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of second language acquisition and students varying levels of English proficiency.
  • Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students.
  • Utilizes a variety of assessments and uses data in the classroom to monitor students progress and modify further instruction.
  • Uses technology to support student learning in and out of the classroom. Collaborates with EL colleagues on ESL curriculum, lessons, and assessment implementation.
  • Collaborates and communicates with teachers and administration to ensure the students are receiving language support and other forms of academic assistance.
  • Creates, implements, and monitors students on Student Success Plans. Completes progress reports and report cards as dictated by school assignment.
  • Assists with student schedules through class recommendations and transition meetings between schools and for those students exiting the program.
  • Assists with the oversight and delivery of ACCESS administration.
