IN-PERSON AFTER-SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR - WATERTOWN, MA

Athena Coding is a premier enrichment education company seeking enthusiastic instructors to teach our Minecraft Explorer's Club after-school programs for elementary students in Watertown, MA. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a consistent, part-time afternoon position. All curriculum, training, and materials are provided. Current Class Openings Mondays, 2:30-3:30 PM Class dates: October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16, November 23, November 30, and December 7, 2026 Makeup dates, if needed: December 14 and December 21 Thursdays, 2:30-3:30 PM Class dates: October 15, October 22, October 29, November 5, November 12, November 19, December 3, and December 10, 2026 Makeup date, if needed: December 17 Instructors should plan to arrive by approximately 2:00 PM to prepare for class. Lead Instructor Compensation Lead instructors earn approximately $70-$80 per class . Lead instructors are responsible for keeping a set of approximately 15-20 Athena Coding Chromebooks and chargers between classes.

You will need to:

Safely store the Chromebooks between sessions Make sure the Chromebooks are charged before each class Transport the Chromebooks to and from the school each week Because of the number of Chromebooks that must be transported, access to a car is required for the Lead Instructor position. Monday Assistant Instructor Opening We are also hiring an Assistant Instructor for the Monday Hosmer class . The Assistant Instructor earns approximately $50 per class and is not responsible for storing, charging, or transporting the Chromebooks. Responsibilities Manage and engage a classroom of elementary-aged students while keeping them safe and supported Facilitate fun, structured Minecraft and technology-based activities Follow Athena Coding lesson plans and curriculum Help students troubleshoot and stay engaged throughout class Communicate professionally with Athena Coding staff and school partners We're Looking for Someone With A positive, patient, and energetic personality A genuine interest in working with children ages 6-12 Strong classroom management and communication skills Reliability and consistent availability for the scheduled class dates At least a high school diploma Access to a car if applying for a Lead Instructor position Previous teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, childcare, or youth programming experience is a plus, but we provide the training and curriculum needed to teach the program.
