• Full-time, Contract The Salisbury School is seeking an energetic elementary school educator to be a head classroom teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

The ideal candidate would have a degree in Elementary Education and previous experience teaching children. In addition to being able to create an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth of the students in their classroom, the desired candidate would be a self-starter that is able to create differentiated lessons based on student levels. Experience teaching reading is a plus.

Opportunities:

Focus on the social and emotional as well as academic needs of children Take part in progressive education seminars in the first year Be paired with a mentor/guide in the first year Partner with our learning specialist to provide differentiated instruction Take part in regular professional development offered through the school and through off campus workshops and conferences

Duties/Responsibilities:

Teach all subjects as noted above and demonstrate thorough planning Maintain emphasis on preparing students for the joys and challenges of learning Participate in curriculum development, committee and task force work Lead parent teacher conferences and engage in regular communication with families Perform necessary administrative tasks, including narrative report writing and attend required meetings and events Provide differentiated instruction designed to meet the social and emotional and academic needs of children Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity, both in teaching and in working with colleagues and families Teach and learn in and about the outdoors The Salisbury School is an equal opportunity employer.
