Elite School Staffing is seeking a passionate and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our team within the Service Learning District for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop confidence in mathematics while building strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. This role is designed for an educator who creates engaging, rigorous, and supportive learning experiences that prepare students for long-term academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Implementation Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for middle school students. Develop rigorous lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real-world application. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners, including students requiring intervention or enrichment. Incorporate instructional technology, collaborative learning, and hands-on activities to increase student engagement. Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, perseverance, and confidence in mathematics. Assessment & Student Achievement Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and mastery of mathematical concepts. Analyze student performance data to guide instruction and provide targeted academic support. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student achievement using district-approved systems. Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress and growth. Classroom Management & Student Development Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture. Implement classroom management strategies aligned with school-wide PBIS and MTSS expectations. Promote student responsibility, collaboration, and positive peer relationships. Supervise students during instructional periods and assigned school responsibilities throughout the day. Professional Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, interventionists, and administrators to support student achievement. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school improvement initiatives. Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom expectations. Uphold district policies, confidentiality standards, and professional ethics in all aspects of the position.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field required. Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate middle school mathematics endorsement preferred, but not required. Experience Previous middle school teaching or instructional experience preferred. Experience delivering differentiated mathematics instruction and utilizing student data to improve achievement is preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics concepts and instructional best practices. Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to make mathematics engaging, accessible, and relevant for diverse learners. Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms. Commitment to fostering academic excellence, equity, and continuous student growth. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the instructional day. Ability to lift and carry classroom materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and other school environments. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
