About Chandler Park Academy:
Chandler Park Academy (CPA) is a PreK-12 public charter school district serving the Harper Woods community since 1997. We focus on strong instruction, consistent routines, and a culture of respect and belonging so every student can achieve at high levels.
Position Overview:
Model Teachers are high-impact classroom educators who also serve as instructional leaders within their building. You will teach your own classes and support other teachers through non-evaluative coaching, demonstration lessons, and PLC leadership. This is not an administrative role.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach at a consistently high level: Plan, teach, assess, and reflect to drive measurable student growth.
Build strong classroom culture:
Clear routines, positive behavior supports, and inclusive practices.
Use data to improve instruction:
Turn assessment results into next steps, differentiation, and reteaching.
Coach and mentor teachers:
Goal-based, non-evaluative feedback, modeling, and co-planning.
Lead PLC work:
Facilitate team learning using student work, lesson study, and action planning.
Support curriculum and assessments:
Align resources to standards and strengthen common assessments.
Strengthen family partnership:
Communicate proactively and build trust that supports attendance and learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) for the assigned subject(s) / grade level(s). Five (5)+ years as teacher of record. At least two of the past three years rated "Highly Effective" (MOECS or out‑of‑state equivalent). Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience supporting departmentalized or self-contained instruction and collaborative team planning.
