This position requires a valid Michigan (secondary) teaching certificate. We will work with individuals that do not possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate but have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies or a related field for certification. Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate: RX certification preferred. Multiple certifications/endorsements also preferred, but not required. Strong belief that all students can and will be successful. Strong knowledge of curriculum content in social studies related coursework. Able to plan effective, engaging lessons and use data to plan and adjust instruction. Ability to interact positively and motivate students. Able to work with colleagues to improve student outcomes.
