Do you want to gain valuable expertise in the human services field? We provide hands-on work experience along with ample professional development opportunities. The Eastern Michigan University Bright Futures program operates after-school programs across the Ypsilanti, Romulus, and Wayne-Westland school districts. We are seeking part-time employees to work with youth in our after school programs. Our staff will be responsible for interacting with students, helping with homework, and participating in, planning, and facilitating activities. Our programs run Monday through Thursday for approximately 2.5 hours. The specific start and end times of the program depends on the school. Applicants must have afternoon availability to fit our program times. There are 15-23 hours a week available, depending on position, with extra hours available for professional development.
There are two positions available:
Assistant Coordinator:
An Assistant Coordinator must have prior experience working with youth, be able to plan and facilitate engaging activities, and step in to lead programming in the event of a Site Coordinator absence. There are 20-23 hours a week available for this position at $17/hour. Student Program Instructor (SPI): SPIs do not need to have prior experience working with youth. SPIs will engage in meaningful interactions with students and participate in activities, along with planning and facilitating activities.
