Job Summary:
Are you an enthusiastic high school or college age student looking for a summer job that matters? Join the Spartan Kids team as a Spartan Kids Assistant! This is your chance to gain real-world experience in education while helping create a summer that students will never forget. You'll be the "right hand" to our Lead Teachers, collaborating daily to build a nurturing, high-energy environment for school-age kids. Help set up supplies and dive into creative projects that keep learning interactive and fun. Assist with organizing and supervising Friday Field Trips! Build positive relationships with students and families, ensuring everyone feels welcome and included. THelp maintain a safe, clean, and organized space where every child can thrive. This dynamic role offers the chance to apply your education knowledge and skills in a practical setting while making a positive impact on young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to understand daily tasks and priorities, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. Set up and take down supplies and project materials daily, contributing to an interactive and stimulating learning environment. Assist with organizing and supervising Friday field trips, providing enriching experiences for students outside the classroom. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and families, building positive relationships and a sense of community. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all participants. Provide daily support to the Lead Teacher, assisting with classroom activities and student supervision as needed.
Qualifications:
Fun, nurturing, and caring personality, with a genuine passion for working with children. Highly organized and flexible, able to adapt to diverse tasks and responsibilities. Experience in child care is appreciated, demonstrating an understanding of the needs and interests of school-age children. First-aid and CPR certification are appreciated, highlighting a commitment to safety and well-being. One to two years of college experience in a related field, especially education, is preferred, showcasing your academic background and interest in the field. Previous work experience with school-age children (ages 5-12) is desirable, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge. Experience preparing and serving snacks is advantageous, contributing to the nutritional needs of students. Knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children, facilitating effective engagement and support. Effective communication skills, able to collaborate with colleagues and interact positively with students and families. Punctual and reliable, able to begin work shifts on time and fulfill scheduled hours.
