Called Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) preferred or Contracted Position Summary The K/1 Classroom Teacher is responsible for partnering with parents in the education of their children. This partnership aligns with our school mission - to prepare students who are Christ-like, well-educated, and service-minded. Teachers at FLS provide engaging, faith-integrated instruction that aligns with Lutheran educational philosophy and prepares students for today, tomorrow, and eternity. Qualifications

• Active member of a Christian congregation; LCMS membership preferred
• Called from the LCMS roster of commissioned ministers preferred
• Bachelor's degree in education; early childhood emphasis preferred
• State teaching certificate in progress; valid certification preferred
• Commitment to integrating faith in curriculum and classroom
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Willingness to participate in professional development and collaborate with team
• Ability to pass a background check as required by school policy Responsibilities Faith Integration
• Integrate Biblical truth, Lutheran doctrine, and Christian values across subject materials
• Participate in morning staff devotions and contribute to spiritual culture of the school
• Model Christ-like character when interacting with others Instruction
• Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with grade-level standards and school curriculum
• Implement instruction that meets the needs of each learner
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Prepare and administer assessments for the purpose of informing instruction Classroom Management and Environment
• Establish a safe, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment
• Implement school discipline with consistency, grace, and restorative practices Professional Responsibilities
• Communicate proactively with families regarding student's progress and concerns
• Complete required documentation including lesson plans, records, and reports as needed Collaboration
• Support schoolwide initiatives, events, and the broader mission of the school community
