Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Reports to: Director of Lower and Upper School Oak City Academy is seeking a passionate and Christ-centered Middle School Science Teacher to inspire and challenge students in grades 6-8. This role delivers engaging, hands-on instruction through a Classical lens while nurturing the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of each student. The ideal candidate is a relational, organized teacher who loves science, leads with joy, and embraces our school's mission and values. Qualifications A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for Christian education Passionate about science and cultivating curiosity in young learners Familiar with Classical and/or Montessori-based educational methods Skilled in classroom leadership, communication, and curriculum delivery Organized, responsive, and collaborative with students, staff, and families Classes 6th Grade Science 7th Grade Science 8th Grade Science 6th, 7th, or 8th Grade Bible Responsibilities Deliver curriculum using Classical pedagogy and OCA's curriculum guides Submit weekly lesson plans and complete quarterly assessments Track and communicate student progress using school grading tools Foster a structured and supportive classroom using OCA's House System Collaborate with leadership and peers through weekly team meetings Attend two school community events annually and ongoing staff development Participate in up to 30 hours of professional development Partner with families through regular communication and parent conferences
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Prior experience teaching science or working in a classroom setting Experience in faith-based education is a plus
Skills & Attributes:
