Job Description

Position Summary Portsmouth Christian Academy (PCA) is a large, nondenominational Christian school located in Dover, NH. PCA, located just minutes northwest of Portsmouth, NH on a nearly sixty-acre riverfront campus, is a dually accredited, independent, Christian, college-preparatory, day school for students in preschool through grade twelve seeking to maximize their God-given potential. PCA faculty and staff are unified in creating a caring, safe, Christ-focused learning environment where young people are challenged to thrive academically and grow as servant-leaders prepared to impact the world for good. Qualified candidates must hold either a state or ACSI certification and possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. If a candidate does not yet hold a teaching certificate upon hire, the teacher must commit to actively pursuing certification through one of the approved pathways. Continuous growth and professional learning are essential to maintaining excellence in education and supporting the mission of PCA. The Middle School Math Teacher must possess a strong understanding of classroom management, adolescent development, age-appropriate characteristics, needs, and environmental factors that support healthy, respectful, and challenging learning environments. The Middle School Math Teacher will teach in a leveled math program with three separate classes: foundational, grade-level, and advanced. This structure allows students to receive instruction at an appropriate pace while continuing to grow in confidence, skill, and problem-solving. The teacher will plan and deliver lessons aligned to key 6th grade math standards, including number operations, ratios, percents, equations, geometry, data, and review, while providing support, challenge, and assessment based on student needs.
