About us Tutor Doctor of Edison-Metuchen is a small business in Edison, NJ. We are professional, agile and our goal is to come alongside parents to clear the hurdles in the way of learning so students can confidently achieve their personal best. We work with parents in and around Edison, Metuchen, South Plainfield, Piscataway, Iselin, Colonia, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Plainfield, Scotch Plains, Newark and nearby towns. We are here to guide students through this exciting and sometimes challenging journey, helping them succeed in academics, and in life. Whether they are a teenager trying to get their geometry skills to the next level or a young child working on their reading skills, our qualified tutors can provide services for all grades, levels, and subjects—including special needs, adult, and veteran tutoring.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students .
  • Develop and implement customized lesson plans based on the individual needs of each student.
  • Assist students in understanding complex concepts and improving their problem-solving skills.
  • Use learning technology and educational resources to enhance the tutoring experience.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure alignment with classroom curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working with students in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the subjects being tutored, including curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique learning styles of each student.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Proficiency in using learning technology and online platforms for virtual tutoring sessions.
