Job Description

Located in Jersey City, NJ, ideal for educators who live locally or currently commute into NYC and are looking for a closer, more sustainable school community. This is a full-time, on site role designed for educators with experience teaching computer science. This role is for the 2026-27 school year and will begin in August 2026. Company Description Kindle Education is an intentionally diverse public charter school that aims to cultivate an equitable community of purposeful individuals who are prepared to navigate our current world and build our future. We opened our doors to 66 6th grade students in 2023 in Jersey City, NJ, and we will continue adding one grade each year until we are a full 6th-12th grade school. As a Founding Creative Computing Teacher , you will play a pivotal role in helping to define the academic culture and technological standards for our school. We are seeking a passionate educator with experience or strong interest in both computing and technological innovative who is excited to build deep relationships with students, design purpose-driven creative learning experiences, and coach young people as they develop confidence, voice, and creative habits of mind. This role blends instructional excellence, student coaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Creative Computing Teacher & Student Coach reports to the Director of Learning . As a Creative Computing & Digital Innovation Teacher at Kindle Education, you will play many roles. We believe that education is best done as a team sport and that we can accomplish exponentially more through collaboration. As a Creative Computing & Digital Innovation Teacher , you will lead students in exploring key topics in creative computing and digital innovation, including coding, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, web development, digital citizenship, and content creation. With the support of the Director of Learning, you will facilitate a curriculum aligned to NJSLS and the Kindle Education model, prioritizing student-driven, hands-on learning. You will play a key role in ensuring that students develop the skills necessary to navigate and contribute to an increasingly digital world. You will collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to design and facilitate interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences. As a Student Coach , you will facilitate a daily advisory class where you will partner with parents to guide a small group of students as they find their spark, develop social-emotional and metacognitive skills, set goals for life and learning, and build a sense of purpose. Through advisory sessions, one-on-one coaching sessions, family communication, and progress and data tracking, you will ensure your students are getting the support they need to show consistent growth. As a learner and team member , you will set your own personalized goals with the support of a coach and your peers, ultimately modeling the self-directed growth we expect from our students. By proactively supporting your peers and pitching in where needed, you will help create an environment where everyone feels valued. During the 2024-25 to 2025-26 school years, Kindle Education retained over 95% of its staff , reflecting a stable, supportive, and mission-aligned team culture.
