About Us:
St. Peter Academy in River Edge, NJ, is a faith-filled learning community dedicated to the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of our students. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher to join our dedicated team.
Position Overview:
This position requires the ability to integrate Catholic teachings into daily lessons, cultivate a positive and engaging classroom environment, and foster critical thinking skills through hands-on activities. The teacher will work closely with other faculty members and parents to support the spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth of the students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans across all core subjects. Integrate Catholic values, prayers, and teachings into daily lessons and classroom activities. Develop and implement projects that encourage problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity. Create a classroom environment that promotes student leadership, participation, exploration, and critical thinking. Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, quizzes, and hands-on activities. Use differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom behavior. Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities to continuously grow as an educator. Support the spiritual formation of students by engaging in Catholic school traditions and activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree. Active or eligible for state certification in teaching, or pathway to complete certification. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment. Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. Active participation in the Catholic faith and commitment to integrating faith-based teachings into the classroom. Previous experience teaching is preferred.
This position offers:
