Job Description

New East West Academy is seeking an energetic and skilled Public Speaking & Writing Teacher to work with students in Grades 2-10. This part-time role is ideal for educators who enjoy helping students build confidence, master effective writing techniques, develop strong delivery skills, and excel in competitive speaking and communication.
Responsibilities:
Teach foundational and advanced skills in public speaking, argumentative structure, and written composition Coach students across various speech formats, structured presentations, and essay writing genres (e.g., persuasive, narrative, analytical) Lead engaging small-group classes (6-15 students) Guide students through the writing process, including outlining, drafting, editing, and verbal presentation Prepare students for confident public performance, academic success, and competitive events Use academy curriculum and/or incorporate your own structured lesson plans
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience teaching or coaching public speaking, English language arts, or writing Passion for working with school-age students (Grades 2-10) Strong classroom management, essay editing, and leadership skills Background in speech, debate, creative writing, or academic writing instruction is preferred
