Pay:
Based on experience, per the union contract Job Description The 7-12 Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students in grades 7 through 12. This role involves developing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success and promote academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
1.
Instruction and Curriculum Development:
Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and address the diverse needs of students. Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in learning. 2.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a respectful and focused learning atmosphere. Address and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures. 3.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Design and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and progress. Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and provide feedback to students. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance. 4.
Student Support and Engagement:
Provide individualized instruction and support to students with varying abilities and learning styles. Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full academic potential. Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress and behavior. 5.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends. Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and participate in faculty meetings and committees. 6.
Curriculum and Resource Development:
Develop and adapt instructional materials and resources to meet the needs of students. Integrate technology and digital tools into the curriculum to enhance learning. Stay informed about new teaching methods and educational research. 7.
Extracurricular Involvement:
Support and participate in school events, activities, and extracurricular programs. Serve as a mentor and role model for students outside the classroom. 8.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all school policies, state regulations, and educational standards. Prepare and submit reports on student progress, behavior, and other required documentation. Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field, master's degree/valid teaching certificate preferred. Previous teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
