Overview Join our vibrant team at BH Tutoring as a 5th or 6th grade Afterschool Teacher , where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young learners and foster a positive, engaging environment after school hours. In this role, you will create a safe and nurturing space for children to explore, learn, and grow through supervision, and mentorship. Your energy and leadership will help cultivate a love for learning while supporting their social and emotional development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing your skills in education and youth development. Duties Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Support 5th or 6th grade students with homework assistance, tutoring, or educational activities tailored to their needs. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful environment. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and address any concerns. Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote childhood development, creativity, teamwork, and fun. Skills Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable. Experience in education or youth programs is highly desirable. Excellent child supervision skills combined with a caring attitude and patience. Background in tutoring or teaching young children across various subjects. Bachelor's degree in elementary or childhood education is a plus. A completed or in progress New York State Teacher Certification is a plus. Schedule This will be a part-time schedule from Monday to Friday around 3:00pm - 6:00pm . Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
