Our client is looking for caring, nurturing, and energetic Before-School Support Staff to join their premier preschool in West Islip, NY. The ideal candidate must be willing to work with children 6 to 12 years old. This is a Direct Hire position with the school Part-Time; Monday-Friday; year-round or school-year positions
Open Positions Before-School Support Staff:
working with children 6 to 12 years old and the schedule can be 7:00am to 9:00am, Monday through Friday OR Tuesdays and Thursdays Salary $17.00-$19.00/hour pending education, credentials, and professional experience Benefits Health Insurance coming September 2026! Responsibilities Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for school-age children. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, learning, physical activity, social skills, and personal development. Supervise and actively engage children during before-school and after-school hours, including structured activities, free play, and outdoor recreation. Provide support with homework, reading, and other age-appropriate educational activities when needed. Build positive relationships with children while encouraging teamwork, independence, respect, and responsible behavior. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and activity areas. Monitor children's safety, health, and overall well-being while following program policies and safety procedures. Collaborate with teachers, program staff, and other team members to create a positive and inclusive environment. Qualifications
REQUIRED
Education:
High School Diploma
REQUIRED
Experience:
6 months of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in any capacity Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations Must meet background check eligibility Must be at least 18-years-old Don't meet every qualification?
