Our vision at Back to Earth is for our grades teachers to guide their students on their journey through the end of sixth grade. We are fortunate to have an exceptionally committed and supportive community of families and a close-knit collegial group that values working together in collaboration. Grades classes are well supported by subject offerings, and grounded with abundant time outdoors. We are located in the heart of Oklahoma City on eight wooded acres. We are seeking a candidate who is dedicated to holistic, heart-centered education that meets each student where they are.
School Schedule:
August 24, 2026, to May 21, 2027 In class hours: Monday-Thursday | 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Out of class hours: Team Meetings, In-Service Days, Professional Development, and School Festivals Required Trainings/Attributes A BA in education or a related field At least one year of classroom experience as a lead teacher A familiarity with Waldorf education A love of children and a deep desire to support their growth Excellent classroom management skills Willingness to be part of a culture that values growth, honesty, and constructive feedback The desire to work collaboratively with the school community, including parents, to support the children's educational journey The ability to adapt the curriculum to the skills and needs of a class or individual child Experience with lesson planning Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Ability to communicate in a respectful, professional manner with parents Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of walking and standing Willingness to be outside with the children in all kinds of weather Ability to engage in meaningful work with the children, which may require lifting, pushing, pulling, cleaning up after animals, and carrying up to 50 lbs at a time.
