Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding contract opportunity as a middle school science instructor, working full time onsite and contributing to student success in a vibrant, dynamic educational environment near Chester, PA. This position serves a general education caseload, with an occasional mix of SPED students who also have dedicated support from SPED teachers. Enjoy the chance to create engaging learning experiences while fostering positive classroom culture.
Key Qualifications:
Holds active certification/licensure appropriate for teaching science at the middle school level Bachelor's degree required to obtain emergency teaching permit Demonstrates mastery of science-related content and instructional best practices Experienced in developing effective lesson plans aligned with state and district standards, using assessment and differentiated instruction to drive learning Previous school experience, ideally in an urban setting Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite between 8:30AM - 4:00PM (no alternative schedules offered) Proven classroom and behavioral management skills Comfortable in district and school environment Able to obtain all required Pennsylvania clearances
Responsibilities:
Teach science to middle school students in a general education setting, with support for any SPED students from specialized staff Develop and implement lesson plans that inspire curiosity and meet educational standards Foster a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance student learning and engagement Monitor student progress and differentiate instruction to address individual needs
