After School Chess Coach

Make a positive difference in the lives of students by teaching chess in local elementary schools across Chester and Montgomery County, PA. Keystone Chess Academy is a fast-growing scholastic chess organization partnering with elementary schools in Southeastern Pennsylvania to deliver structured, high-quality chess enrichment programs. We are expanding to 20+ schools this fall and are looking for dependable, enthusiastic coaches to grow with us. Full curriculum, lesson plans, and training are provided. No lesson planning required — you show up, teach, and inspire. Compensation $60 per session (approximately one hour) You may be a strong fit if you: Enjoy working with children ages 5-12 Have a solid understanding of chess fundamentals (competitive experience preferred but not required) Communicate clearly and patiently Are reliable, professional, and punctual Are available weekday afternoons on one or more days per week Have experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, or camp counseling) — helpful but not required What coaching typically involves: Arriving at the school on time and setting up materials Teaching a short structured chess lesson (~20 minutes) Supervising guided practice games Supporting a positive, respectful learning environment Managing cleanup and student dismissal

Requirements:

Must pass required Pennsylvania background clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 114) Reliable transportation to school locations Strong communication and classroom presence Consistent availability for the full program session (6-12 weeks) Keystone Chess Academy is growing fast. Coaches who perform well will have opportunities for additional sessions and increased responsibility as we expand throughout the region.
