Upon School Dismissal (2:15) until 6:00pm & other out of school times.
Job Summary:
An after-school teacher is responsible to the center director for the implementation and ongoing success of the center's program. Teachers are expected to work and relate on a day-to-day basis with all age groups at the center. All teachers are expected to be flexible, professional, and follow the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook.
Qualifications:
▪ Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent ▪ Be At Least 18 Years Of Age ▪ Have Experience Working With Children ▪ Be Reliable And Conscientious In Carrying Out Assigned Duties ▪ Demonstrate A Patient And Loving Attitude Toward Children ▪ Be Flexible In Working With Children Of Different Ages ▪ Be Willing To Take Time To Interact With Children As Well As Supervise Them ▪ Be Healthy And Submit A Recent Health Assessment From A Medical Doctor ▪ Meet The Requirements Of The Law Pertaining To Convictions And Felonies Or Misdemeanors ▪ Willingness To Participate In Training Offer Throughout The Year ▪
Maintain Strict Confidentiality Regarding Our Children And Their Families Responsibilities:
▪ Know The Daily Schedule And Be Prepared For Each Activity ▪ Supervise Personnel Assigned To Assist With Daily Group Activities ▪ Prepare Activities Ahead Of Time In Case Of A Schedule Change Such As Rain ▪ Maintain A Clean And Orderly Physical Environment Conductive To The Growth And Development Of Children, And Use Equipment And Supplies Conscientiously, Returning Them To Their Proper Place ▪ Attend And Actively Contribute To Staff Meetings And Training Classes ▪ Relate To Children And Be Interested In What They Have To Say And What They Are Doing ▪ Make Sure That Children Are Never Left Alone ▪ Be Aware Of Dress Code Issues And Personal Conversations And How They Reflect On The School ▪ Keep Information About Children Confidential, Many Times What Is Said About A Child Comes Back To Parents Or School Personnel Reflecting Poorly On The Teacher ▪ Keep Children Safe At All Times ▪ Cooperate With Other School Staff And Parents ▪ Identify And Report Any major Problems To The Site Director For Proper Solution ▪ Always Speak To The Site Director Instead Of Going Directly To A Parent ▪ Interact With Children In A Manner That Clearly Conveys Love And Acceptance ▪
