Schedule:
This position requires availability Monday-Friday from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM . Optional morning shifts ( 6:50 AM-9:00 AM, Monday-Friday ) are available for those seeking additional hours. Overview We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring Academy Extended Day Teacher to provide a safe, structured, and engaging after-school environment for students in Pre-K 4 through 7th grade. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and creating meaningful activities that promote learning, creativity, and positive social interaction. Responsibilities Supervise students in Pre-K 4 through 7th grade during the after-school program. Use the daily prep period (3:00-3:30 PM) to prepare activities, organize materials, and set up for the afternoon. Ensure students have dedicated quiet time for reading and homework completion. Plan and lead age-appropriate indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Foster a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all students. Monitor student behavior and encourage positive interactions. Submit the monthly snack order and help distribute snacks as needed. Communicate with school administration regarding program needs or student concerns. Follow all school policies and procedures to ensure student safety. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to engage students through fun, age-appropriate activities. Dependable, patient, and able to work independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise students both indoors and outdoors.
